30-Minute Standard Consultations

Our standard consultations are 30 minutes.

Not an expensive “long consultation”. Not something reserved only for complicated cases. It’s simply our standard appointment length.

We want our vets to have time to take a proper history, perform a thorough examination, think through the case, explain the options and answer the owner’s questions.

Veterinary medicine is difficult enough without having to do all of that while watching the clock every 10 or 15 minutes.

A Lunch Break Means a Lunch Break

We believe you should actually be able to stop and eat.

We don’t call it a “paid lunch break” and then expect you to keep consulting, answer calls, catch up on paperwork or squeeze in another patient because you’re technically being paid.

When you’re on your lunch break, we want you to have a break.

Of course, veterinary medicine can be unpredictable and genuine emergencies happen. But routinely working through lunch should not be built into the business model and in fact, we block out the time so our team can have a proper lunch break.

Clinical Autonomy Without the Sales Pressure

We want our vets to practise medicine they can stand behind.

That means having the freedom to discuss different diagnostic and treatment options, consider the individual patient and owner’s circumstances, and use your professional judgement.

There is no expectation to upsell.

There is no competition over who bills the most.

There is no bonus structure designed to make you think about the dollar value of every consultation.

We would rather build a successful veterinary practice through trust, good medicine and long-term relationships with our clients.

Maybe You Don’t Need to Leave Veterinary Medicine
